Who we are
At Owl Farm, everything we do is rooted in respect for the land, care for our animals, and a shared belief in a more sustainable way of living.
Set amidst the countryside of Cheshire, Owl Farm grew from a wish to work in harmony with nature and to celebrate the richness of ethical, sustainable farming with the people around us.

At Owl Farm, we’ve moved from conventional confinement systems to a pasture-fed way of raising chickens, and the difference is clear. Our birds live outdoors with space to roam, fresh air and sunlight, and a naturally varied diet that keeps them healthy without relying on medicated feed or routine antibiotics.
This lifestyle not only produces flavoursome, nutrient-rich meat with higher levels of beneficial fats and vitamins, it also supports the land: the chickens help fertilise the soil and manage weeds as they graze. For us, it’s about raising birds slowly, ethically and in harmony with the environment, so you can enjoy chicken that’s better for you and better for the planet.
Large Black pigs are a traditional English breed with a long, deep body, floppy ears and glossy black coats that make them instantly recognisable. They are calm, friendly animals that are easy to work with, and their natural grazing and rooting habits fit perfectly with small-scale, sustainable farming.
In return, they reward us with rich, juicy pork that chefs and home cooks love. By choosing Large Blacks, we’re also helping to protect an important rare breed and preserve valuable genetic diversity for the future. Our pigs roam and forage our pastures, and their slow-grown, outdoor life shines through in the quality of the meat.
Kune Kune pigs were our first pigs and were never meant for the meat counter – we started with them simply because we fell in love with their personalities.
They are small, friendly and full of character, making them ideal companion animals for the right home. We keep in touch with our pig families through a WhatsApp group, sharing photos, advice and stories as the pigs grow and settle in. Kune Kunes don’t need vast amounts of space or complicated care, and their gentle nature makes them a favourite with children and adults alike. If you’re thinking about a pet pig, we’re always happy to chat and help you decide whether a Kune Kune is a good fit.
The Oxford Sandy and Black is one of Britain’s oldest native pig breeds, sometimes calledthe “Plum Pudding Pig” for its sandy coat and black patches. Once a common sight on small farms, it nearly disappeared with the rise of intensive pig production, but dedicated breeders have brought it back from the brink.
At Owl Farm, we raise Oxfords for their calm nature, hardiness and superb pork, and because they represent a living link to our farming heritage. By giving them space to roam and forage, we can produce high-quality, ethically raised pork while helping to secure the future of this rare and beautiful breed.
